TYPES

We manufacture and stock both raffle tickets and auction cards in a number of "standard" texture and weights. These include 67 lb. Vellum Bristol (our Primary colors) and 65 lb. Cover (our Ultra Bright colors). We will also be glad to perforate any other paper you need on a Special Order basis. Minimum quantities may apply.

All of our stock should feed properly through virtually all manual feeds of most Windows compatible printers. The key here is "manual feed". The manual feed of your printer - vs. the cassette tray normally used for "regular" or text wiight paper - generally requires paper to travel through one less roller before exiting. This extra movement in standard cassette trays is what most often causes paper jams.

67 lb. Vellum Bristol Cover is a card stock with a thickness of about .009 - .0095", is relatively smooth, not too rough and certainly not glossy.It is just a little "rougher" than index card stock and accepts ink and toner from both InkJet and Laser printers. All of our Primary Colors are available in 67 lb Vellum. Feel free to ask us to send you samples before buying larger quantities (click here to request samples).

65 lb. Cover is very similar in feel and weight to 67 lb Vellum with little discerible difference. It is approximately .0095 - .0010" thick. All of our Ultra Bright Colors are available in 65 lb. Cover.

All other paper is likewise available by special request. Most frequently requested paper types is glossy (available in white only) and text weight. Text weight (similar to 20-24 lb. bond) is available in both Primary and Ultra Bright Colors and is most frequently requested in those instances in which a "not too difficult to tear" ticket is required. Bottom line is that if there's a particular paper you want, we will do our best to get it. (NOTE: Minimum quantities may apply.)


PERFORATION

Perforation refers to punching of holes or slots into paper so that it can be separated. The number of holes per inch determines the ease with which the paper can be separated and appearance of the edges. With raffle tickets and auction cards, paper separation generally trumps edge appearance in importance. We promise a + or - tolerance of 1/32" - 1/16", depending on the stock used.

All raffle ticket stock is perforated at a rate of 12 holes per inch between ticket and tear off stub so that the do not come apart too easily. On the other hand, a perforation rate of 30 holes per inch is used to perforate between the tickets themselves, allowing you to separate them easily for distribution.

NOTE: These rates of perforation have - after perforating literally millions of sheets of ticket stock - proven to be the best combination. Out of thousands of customers, rarely do we hear of any printer feed problems. If there is a problem, it is likely a matter of a very old printer needing adjustment, bent or mishandled paper, use of the cassette tray vs. the manual feed, or someone using a printer that specifically recommends not using card stock of any type.
